As expected, one side is bearing the brunt of the loss, but this movie has a heart, even if the girl seemingly doesn't, and manages to bring out lotsa laughter and some food for thought.

I've read some of Edogawa Rampo's short stories and i think this film quite successful for establishing the term ' Rampo-esque' in the cinema, including surrealistic touches and psycho-sexual nightmarish perspective that was significance in some of Rampo's stories such as MIRROR HELL and THE CATERPILLAR etc.
