I didn't find this to be laugh out loud comedy, but it did have a few bits for you smile. Its more of a dark comedy, cos its a bit strange, bordering on mild drama. Worth watching once I'd say.

Brandon W (fr) wrote: The Final Girls is directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, and it stars Taissa Farmiga, Malin kerman, Adam DeVine, Alia Shawkat, Alexander Ludwig, and Nina Dobrev in a slasher comedy about a group of friends going to see a slasher film called Camp Bloodbath because the main girl's mom was one of the stars there, and it's the anniversary of her mom's death. So they watch it, then a fire accident appears, and when they go through the movie screen, they ended up in the film themselves, going by scene by scene of the film, and they try to survive until the movie is over. When it comes to meta films, there's a line here that is a sensitive one for me. It has to be really good on doing meta stuff, if not, it'll ruin the film and just be very annoying. There are films that I've seen done well like Scream, Cabin in the Woods, and Tucker and Dale vs Evil, and then there is Grave Encounters that thinks it's being cheeky when really it's not. So with The Final Girls, I wasn't expecting anything about it other then the fact that I finally got to see a film with Taissa Farmiga in it as my best friend talked about her when talking about American Horror Story. Too bad that she's not a fan of meta films as I thought it was a heck lot of fun for me. The acting is really good as it seems that the actors are having a lot of fun in this. The jokes really hit bullseye for me, and it's also funny how intentionally dumb it is, even though there were some parts that I knew were unintentionally dumb. The characters are likable, including the characters in Camp Bloodbath that are suppose to be really dumb. When the two sides of the film style start to collide with each other, I was worried about it, but it really works because I care about the characters, and it actually bring some emotional moments that were surprisingly effective. The Final Girls is a really great film that is the best Friday the 13th movie that I've seen either so far, or it is.
