(us) wrote: The directors of this dark comedy seem to have insisted on having quirky focal points in almost every scene. Admittedly these are highly original and it is quite a feat that they sustain it, except that it totally obliterates any sense of the overall serious message I think they were hoping to make. Something about capitalism and the plight of the worker? All very relevant and all lost, sadly. I think the French are in a rut churning out these kinds of oddball things, the same way the Brits can't leave alone the cockney gangster.

(gb) wrote: Funny film with a heart, gets all the gay stereotypes in there but the mix works. It's a football version of the Full Monty, with a gay love story. One of my all time favorite films

(gb) wrote: This movie is HILARIOUS. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are the perfect duo, and this is clearly shown through their excellent acting! If you want to laugh for 1 and a half hours straight, then watch this movie!

(mx) wrote: A movie that is well acted and will make you tear up until in the end. This film is not for everyone if you just like movies that deal with dialogue then your going to like this movie. The acting of this movie is very well done especially from Shirley MacLaine who steals this entire movie. Every character is interesting and different. But the ending of this film will make you cry or have a tear in your eye because the ending of this film is just sad and depressing. For a movie that's over 2 hours long could've been at least 1hr. and 40 min. because some parts felt slow to me. This film is a classic and I think you should see the film just for acting because the acting in this film is phenomenal.
(fr) wrote: There is something intoxicating and refreshingly unique about the way these four attractive people decidedly do unattractive things. I can see how some audiences might take it as a bleak, cynical, and shallow relationship drama about unlikable characters doing hurtful things to each other, but I think it's a lot deeper and more intelligent than that. I loved every minute of "Closer". This is an insightful and unpredictable romantic drama about flawed people doing hurtful things to each other, and I totally bought the story thanks to the terrific performances from its cast and Mike Nichols' assured direction. Erotic, darkly funny, and totally addictive. It's a film that I would love to revisit every once in a while. Marvelous!
(kr) wrote: In our household watching this film every year is an annual tradition and the film still holds up. I laugh at the jokes every time. It is a classic, charming, funny and well acted.

(fr) wrote: It takes an unexpectedly dark turn near the conclusion as well as a lost of sympathy for the male lead, but Ruby Sparks works that to its favor; offering us a wonderful little gem that offers insights on love, insecurity and commitment in modern day Los Angeles.
(it) wrote: Such a horrible waste of time. Not even remotely humorous scary or anything. Just dumb. Do not watch or borher with your time.
