Most horror movies don't scare me but Grave Encounters was one of the few that had me legitimately frightened. I'm not a huge fan of found footage horror films but they did this one right. They didn't go for too much and it paid off by keeping me on the edge of my seat instead of getting to the point where it became cheesy. One of the best horror movies I have seen in quite a while. Definitely watch this if you are looking for a genuinely scary movie. 9/10.

Within those two extremes, two strangers thrown together figure out that their cultural differences can be overcome to create a friendship, and maybe more. Much of the cultural references are lost on non-Indian viewers, but the story is still worth the time to see additional perspectives on this centuries-old issue of clashing cultures.
(mx) wrote: Great special effects highlight a movie with a silly and simple plot that goes totally awry. There is nothing about this movie that makes anyone want to watch it. With Mission to Mars coming out in this same year, spend your money there and avoid this crummy excuse for a sci-fi flick.

You will black out before the film ends, and it's probably for the better. Recommended for Stallone and Banderas devotees only.

(de) wrote: Gary Oldman is phenominal as the punk 'icon' Sid Vicious. The film shows the self destruction of Sid Vivious, something which Sex Pistols groupie Nancy understands. As the relationship goes on, Sid Vicious is pulled into a world of addiction and hopelessness, with tragic consquences. Although the film is relevant on so many levels, I really don't think Sid Vicious should be heralded as some icon, he was a talenless junky poser who behaved like a violent, deluded headcase. Although some of it stems from the senseless world he found himself in where his violent behavior was held in high regard by many supposed punk morons! That said, the film is still quite sad to watch, but at the same time, he never had much in the way of potential. Also, one of the most depressing films...ever!

(mx) wrote: Viewers will enjoy the staggering beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in this no-nonsense, fast-paced, colorful story of a patrol of scarlet-coated Mounties guiding a diverse group of passengers over a perilous mountain pass while pursued and constantly noodged by Indians... This Mountie Gets Shelley Winters--This is a solid b-movie western that does all that you expect it to and, if that is what you want, you'll enjoy it... Mounties, Cree and the Sioux!!

(ru) wrote: After watching a string of high budget, computer animated special effected "blockbusters," this movie was definitely a good change of pace as the intriguing storyline allows the actors and actresses carry the movie on its own merit. I enjoyed it!
