Mike M (ag) wrote: A nightmarish recounting of alien abduction stories and the ongoing effects on the victims is genuinely frightening in its portrayal. Based on real accounts, the mind boggles at the possibilities. Helmed by Dark Shadows/Night Stalker/Trilogy of Terror vet Dan Curtis, this TV mini-series from 1992 is worth finding (albeit on VHS, as the only DVD release is PAL). Convincing performances throughout, particularly the abductees.

And that's really only because i love 80s prop special effects; puppets etc. Big problem is that this is set up like a horror movie rather than sci-fi so it comes off more like chucky than alien. The human characters are quite unlikable. I will say the tripping balls and gory door crushing toward the ending definitely regained my interest after some boring lulls but the payoff is not that rewarding so i still wouldn't recommend this movie. when you've got Robocop, terminator, irobot, blinky and a million other movies about killer robots, there is hardly any reason to watch hardware. Last thing worth noting, the soundtrack is pretty tight.
