James T (ca) wrote: It's a fun franchise, which if you've loved the first three then you won't be disappointed by this last (possibly) instalment. Blood, gore and carnage.

Marc W (ag) wrote: Weird Japanese cinema. Classic

Sylvester K (ru) wrote: The fall of San Francisco into a liberal hell hole. Milk is a politically charged propaganda film that brands everyone gay for the sake of political correctness. Penn's performance for such an unlikable role was incredible but there's nothing else to really make this memorable. It was long and dreadful, definitely avoid.

Richard D (au) wrote: A stylish film, but a fairly turgid and dull one. If your climax involves both Peter Stormare and Tilda SWinton, and it's still pretty dull, there's no hope for your film.

David S (de) wrote: Great battle sequences and a period in time not often explored within cinema adds some freshness to this otherwise by-the-numbers epic. The storyline is as simple as it can be with the characters just as simple - each one is essentially boiled down to one characteristic with no real complexity. The pacing is also sluggish as it alternates between rousing action and overly melodramatic scenes. The film tries to build characters, but the dialog is so inept and the scenes so dramatically inert that no development actually takes place. The final battle is surprisingly effective but the wait to get there doesn't really make it worth an entire viewing. Recommended only for fans of action and war films as the violence quota is met, but others should just watch "Braveheart" again...

Dave C (mx) wrote: Strange and strangely appealing film by Julian Schnabel about Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas. Bardem is very good and there are truly weird cameos by Sean Penn and Johnny Depp (too weird for description really!).Well worth hunting out.

Toby C (au) wrote: I was highly disappointed with this film after expecting much more. The movie is unclear on what it's trying to do as the movie turns to a mess in the last act.

(ru) wrote: A brilliant film, made so by its dispassionate pathos. It works as a nostalgia piece, but even moreso as an almost hagiographic witness to virtue in the midst of vice. It was no surprise to me to read that Malle worked with Bresson early in his career, as this shows in the avoidance of cliche, and in the under-acting beauty of the players. I was taken by the portrayal of a time now lost, with its flaws, yes, but moreso its beauty.

Dov D (de) wrote: Maybe because this is one of the first early westerns I've ever seen so the typical plot points are new to me, or maybe because this is the first John Wayne film I've ever seen, but regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this B western flick. It wasn't anything spectacular, but i enjoyed it. Bottom line, I'd recommend this short film to any western fans.

Curtis B (kr) wrote: A necessary installment in the series, but not very well done. The score is strange and obnoxious, the costuming is cheap, the camera angles (Caesar constantly creeping in the back) are awkward, and its a 20-minute movie packed into an hour and a half, not to mention the "twist" ending is a cheap and unrealistic turn. I still really like the concept of the series.

Peyton C (fr) wrote: A classic action movie. Bruce Willis is the perfect choice for the hero. Alan Rickman is also really good as the now classic Hans Gruber, even though it's been overshadowed by Severus Snape. The action is intense and riveting. I know this will anger many people, but this, in my opinion, this is NOT a Christmas movie, it is an action/dark comedy.

Meredith W (it) wrote: This is such a disappointment and not just because of Matthew McConaughey's absence. The story (to use the term loosely) is set 3 years after the original. Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) is running his own custom furniture business (his motivation for leaving the stripper troupe at the end of the first film), however, decides to take a break and try to rekindle that old Mike magic. So begins a road trip, with a few stops along the way, to a stripper convention in Myrtle Beach. It's a basic plot without real resolution that leaves you wanting more - more story and more dancing.

Nick B (fr) wrote: Going a little too far with the series at this point, enjoyable by fans but not by the general public. Left a lot to be desired.
