Even if I'm not claustrophobic, this trash sci-fi made a stronger effect on me than Buried Alive. Yeah, it is trashy, the actors suck, the effects double suck (they don't even really exist, by the way), but sometimes I really felt stuck in that darkness, fighting for my life against an unknown monster. I say sometimes. Mostly I was laughing hard at those magnificent pants, domina-styled (really-really unhealthily high-heeled) boots and the main character: da Ass. Hey, It was fun!

(br) wrote: nice. IMAGINATION WORLDWIDE slipped a little with this release, but i still like it very much. not the best of follow-ups to their SHALLOW GROUND, but it could have been worse.

(br) wrote: Terrific movie - a mix of drama, dark comedy and suspense. A different and interesting look at the grifting world...the direction and writing are great, Nicolas Cage gives an Oscar-worthy performance. Alison Lohman and Sam Rockwell are good as well.

(jp) wrote: For an old black and white movie this sure portrays infantry soldiering a WHOLE lot better than most contemporary movies. It's not "The Thin Red Line" but there's still this no-nonsense feel to it.
(es) wrote: Fantastic noir film by the great but undervalued John Dahl. Nicolas Cage should take a pay cut and resurrect his career with gems like this. This was brilliant from beginning to end and Dennis Hopper works very well in the typical bad guy role here. Underrated film, do yourself a favour and hunt this one down, I paid $2 and it is worth so much more.
