Michael G (fr) wrote: Picture Snatcher seems to follow a trend with James Cagney movies in the 30s. He always plays an ex-con who manages to excel in whatever profession after going legit. The movie's got a fun cast, the dialogue's full of spunk and the story hints at plenty of darkness. Picture Snatcher is also a quick watch with plenty of fun moments even if its not required viewing.

Hayden G (kr) wrote: Fantastical, sentimental, and sometimes touching, although a little shallow, held together by very strong central performances.

David B (de) wrote: While it's not Kazan's best, many of his hallmarks are here: strong emotionally grounded performances, an almost documentary sense of locale, an intelligent screenplay addressing social issues. "Wild River" is always interesting (and worth seeing), just don't go expecting high passion. Like the main character, it's a bit slack and inert.
